IN THE DARK

When all the bulbs go off

And the whole room becomes dark

But for the littlest light

Lit before the bulbs glowed

A flicker of light is the tongue

That sits unsteadily on the candle

Of all, the candle light is left alone

Alone to shine in this mundanity of darkness

What if this light brightness is blown out ?

In this darkness is fear found

Imagined terror and horror

Death is smelt most in darkness
Its lurkings are covered by the darkness
The most painful emotions are let out in the dark
Heart troublings are let to flow in the dark
Bittersweet tears abound in the dark
Yellings of agony echo in the dark

Darkness coexists not with light

As all things felt in the dark are troubling

So does joyfulness emerge when there’s light
